The New English Teacher


The New English Teacher is a scholarly, double-blind peer-reviewed journal, one of the professional publications of Assumption University.  It is published twice a year, January and August, by Assumption University, the Theodore Maria School of Arts, Thailand, without submission payment required.  

The New English Teacher presents information and ideas on theories, research, methods and materials related to language learning and teaching. Within this framework the Journal welcomes contributions in such areas of current enquiry as first and second language learning and teaching, language and culture, literary criticism, media studies, discourse analysis, linguistics, language planning, language testing, multilingual education, stylistics, translation and information technology. The New English Teacher, therefore, is concerned with linguistics applied to education and contributions that have in mind the common professional concerns of both the practitioner and the researcher.

The New English Teacher using APA (6th Edition) is indexed in TCI (Thai – Journal Citation Index: Tier 2), and ACI (ASEAN Citation Index).

The New English Teacher welcomes contributions in three categories:

  • Research articles generally consist of the following components: a title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, and references. NET publishes both qualitative and quantitative research articles. Manuscript with references should not exceed 5,000 words. 
  • Academic articles contain original research results or review existing results. Manuscript with references should not exceed 2,000 words.
  • Book reviews are a form of literary criticism based upon recent books related to English language teaching and learning. Manuscript should not exceed 1,500 words.
