The Promotion of Status of Women to meet UN Standard

Abstract

Thailand adopted the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women by accession on September 8th B.E. 2528 with 7 reservations:

1. Equal rights in the political and public life (article 7). 
2. Equal rights to acquire, change or retain their nationality and also the nationality of their children (article 9). 
3. Equal rights in education of women and men (article10). 
4. Equal rights in the field of employment (article 11). 
5. The same opportunities to conclude contracts (article 15). 
6. The same right to enter into marriage with their free and full consent and management of their property (article 16). 
7. Do not accept authority of the International Court of Justice (article 29).

In B.E. 2538 Thailand withdraw 5 reservations except equality in family life (article 16) and authority of the International court of Justice (article 29).
