Basic Principles of Restorative Justice: Practical Perspectives for Thai Criminal Justice

Abstract

The idea of Restorative Justice is widely studied and developed in various countries. Therefore, Thailand’s Judicial Process especially in criminal cases must be improved and developed to comply with the growth of Judicial Administration. The important principle comes from the Basic Principles of the Use of Restorative Justice Programs in Criminal Matters which approved by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission and recommended by the EU’s Committee of Ministers to member states concerning mediation in penal matters.
